RECORD REQUESTS (effective 3/1/12) If you are looking for an incident Report from the Hanover Police Department you can come to the police station and obtain a request form located in the lobby or you may download Request for Police Records Form from our website www.hanoverpolice.org and fax your request to 781-826-7993. Please indicate the date, time and nature of the incident you are requesting. After review of in-house records you will be contacted at the number provided on your request notifying you if an incident report is available and what fee will be applied at pick-up.
If you are looking for a letter from the Hanover Police Department, you can come to the police station and obtain a request form located in the lobby or you may download Request for Police Records Form from our website www.hanoverpolice.org and fax your request to 781-826-7993. Upon completion of your ‘in-house’ history, a letter will be generated by the department stating you either have no record in the town of Hanover only, or a list of your offenses in the town of Hanover only. You will be contacted when the letter is completed for pickup at the station at which time a $10.00 fee by cash or check payable to the Hanover Police Department will apply. If you are seeking a state-wide history search, this must be done through the Criminal History Board at (617) 660-4600.
Crash reports being requested by an operator involved in an automobile accident in the Town of Hanover can come to the police station and obtain a request form available in the lobby, or you may download Request for Police Records Form from our website www.hanoverpolice.org and fax your request to 781-826-7993. You will be contacted when the crash report is available for pick-up at which time a $5.00 fee by cash or check payable to the Hanover Police Department will apply.
An Insurance Company seeking a report is requested to put the request in writing including the name of the insured, date, time and location of occurrence, accompanied with a check in the amount of $10.00 made payable to the Hanover Police Department along with a self addressed stamped return envelope. If a report is on file it will be forwarded in the envelope provided, if no report exists, the check will be returned.
A law office and/or private investigator representing a client in a private criminal, civil and/or probate matter is required to forward a letter on stationery letterhead indicating their representation of an individual(s) outlining date of incident and what documents are being requested on behalf of their client. Each Attorney request will be assessed a monetary value depending of the complexity of the request. This fee will be made available after review of in-house history and payment of the fee must be made in full prior to release of documents requested. All record requests will be subject to approval by the Prosecutor, Lieutenant, or Chief of Police. Complete forms can be returned in hand or emailed to Hanover Police Department at 129 Rockland St Hanover MA 02339 Emailed forms will not be accepted. Click here to download form to print.
